Run Wiring, ie from panel to new outlets you need to install

(1) Total Distance What is the total distance that you will be running the wire? You will want to estimate the total distance in feet, as that will affect the price. Do you have to run wires out to just one outlet that is fairly close to the main circuit panel? Or are there several lines that will go to several different rooms, our outside? See here.

Please note, it is important to consider the total distance, including the length it takes to wrap around corners in walls, over door frames, etc. While the distance may only be 10 feet 'as the crow flies', it may be more like 30, as the wires must be actually laid.

(2) Type of Material What type of material will the wire be run through?

Can we say that there is a certain, rough price, per feet, depending on the material?

How about something like this:

Dry Wall w/ Copper Wires - $1 per foot?

Dry Wall w/

Brick w/ Copper - $1 per foot, plus $X for each wall incision?

How is this priced typically? (We know it's difficult to give absolutes here, but realistically, there's got to be some way to arrive at a rough estimate, based on a couple of parameters, right?) Rough Estimates or Ballpark Figures will only frustrate most homeowners when they get a bill for a much higher amount. Pricing should be done at the job by the person doing the job and a signed contract for a set price should be requested.
